Mrs. Nora Tripp
Hi! My name is Nora Tripp. I have been married to my husband Michael for 15 years. We have been parishioners of Sacred Heart for approximately 8 years. We have two children attending Sacred Heart. This is my fifth year at Sacred Heart. Over the five years, I have been lunch helper, part time art teacher, Kindergarten aide, First Grade aide, Middle School Theater and speech teacher and Religious Events Coordinator for the school. I have a Bachelors’ of Fine Arts from Emporia State University and is currently finishing classes at Ottawa University to obtain my teaching license. I am student teaching this fall in Kindergarten with cooperating teacher, Mary Miller. I look at this opportunity as a blessing to touch children’s lives. I like integrating curriculum with our Faith. My philosophy of education is a melting pot of ideas from various parts of the major theories of education. It is simply - I believe in children. I have found two quotes that I like: Children learn higher psychological processes through the social environment when an adult or more literate other plays an active role in that social content. --Vgotsky You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him find it within himself. - Galileo Galilei (1564-1642) Italian physicist and astronomer. I think that children do
develop within a social environment. I will foster group learning increasing individual learning. I
believe that potential is within each child. I think as an educator it is my
job to tap into this potential and have them discover this growth. I
view teaching as a collaboration between the parents and myself. This
fostered a revision of my philosophy to four bold statements.
