Hi!  My name is Laurie Macan.  I am a 1987 graduate of Benedictine College (Go Ravens!).  I earned a B.S. in Elementary Education with a concentration in psychology.  I am currently attending the University of Saint Mary to earn my Masters of Education Degree.  I am beginning my 21^st year teaching at Sacred Heart.  My first seven years, I taught a half day kindergarten program and a half day pre-school program.  I was thrilled to be a part of the transition to a full day program.  I have taught full day kindergarten for twelve years.

My husband, Bob, and I live in Piper with our two wonderful sons and a black lab.  Bob is a sergeant with the Kansas City, KS Police Department.  Austin is a 6^th grader at Sacred Heart this year, and Ryan is a third grader.  They both love Sacred Heart.

I am very excited to have your child in my class this year.  I believe that when parents and teachers work together, we create an exceptional learning experience for your child!
