We are looking forward to celebrating our 52nd Brown Bottle with everyone next week. The teachers have worked hard to come up with some creative experiences to offer for the students. Please plan ahead and get your plans with other parents to purchase the big items – like a class party.
This year's funds will be going towards SHOJ campus enhancements such as enhanced outdoor campus signage, LED lights for the school gym (MPC) and partitions for our church meeting rooms! This year’s Fund a Need will go toward Library/Media Center updates to include a 3-D printer, STEM Resources, library book purchases, etc.
The history of Brown Bottle is long and over the years it has accomplished many projects for Sacred Heart Parish and School. In my 5 years there have been many improvements to the building with new restrooms at the school, new MPC stage doors, second entrance, cafeteria items, and playground equipment. We are excited that this year we are going to start transforming our library into a STREAM (science, technology, religion, engineering, arts and math). As you remember from the State of the School Video at the end of this year or next year, the parish will begin to revise the facilities plan for our entire campus. We hope that our jump start on the STREAM materials will help us correctly identify what we would use most. We plan on focusing these funds on tech items that can be used in the classrooms and computer lab, as well as a way to organize and store them. The Archdiocese has made a master’s program available to a teacher from each building to get training in.
