What’s happening in the Counselor's Corner of SHOJ?
- 7 Habits of Happy and Virtuous Kids lessons in every grade K-8. Teachers nominated one student from every class who exemplifies the qualities of the first two habits
- Habit 1: Be Proactive
God gave you power to be in charge of YOU. A proactive person looks like someone who is not reactive, rather he/she thinks first before acting; considering, “What would Jesus do?” in situations that produce big feelings. When we practice this habit, we grow in the virtue of FAITH. - Habit 2: Begin with the end in mind
Have a plan with eyes fixed on Jesus. A person who begins with the end in mind is someone who plans ahead and sets goals. This person is able to see the bigger picture and keep his/her eyes on what really matters. When we practice this habit, we grow in the virtue of HOPE.

- 7th and 8th grade Student Community Service committees are in full swing.
- Counselor sign-up mail box available outside my office for students to sign up to visit.
- Suicide prevention training for teachers Friday, Oct. 21st.
