This year, our SHOJ school community has an opportunity to support two KCK schools in need. Students at Frank Rushton Elementary School and Banneker Elementary School are in need of the following that are new or lightly used and clean and for children 3-12 years of age…
- Fall and winter clothing
- Coats
- Shoes
- Socks
- books
I don’t know about you, but I like to sift through my closet in the fall and spring to clean out items that my family or I don’t wear or use any longer. I will be doing it with a smile on my face this year knowing that my unwanted items will be someone else’s treasure…especially as the weather changes and the holiday season approaches! We are working with a social worker who will make sure that our donations get into the hands of those students and families in need.
Will you join in the purging fun? Please bring in donations beginning Monday, Oct 24th until Friday, Nov 11th. There will be boxes in the entrance of school as well as at the end of the middle school hall for you to place your items as you bring them in. Our student leadership team members will help sort and bag items each week for them to be brought to our social worker connection.
