"The primary goal in the education of children is to teach, and to give the example of a virtuous life."- Saint John Chrysostom Fourth grade visited JA Biztown. Biztown provides students with real world learning to inspire entrepreneurial thoughts. The collision of virtuous souls inspired to build their own businesses sounds like an amazing formula for the future.

"Remember, that bodily exercise, when it is well ordered, as I have said, is also prayer by means of which you can please God our Lord." St. Ignatius of Loyola Based on this quote, St. Ignatius would be proud of Nurse Mary's Exercise Club. See them running in the labyrinth to begin the day. Thanks, Nurse Mary!

The Serra Club hosts an annual essay contest that focuses on a different aspect of religious life. This year's contest question was, "Why is it important for me to think about my vocation in life?" SHOJ sixth grader Margot G. won the top prize in this year's contest and was a guest at the luncheon celebrating winning submissions. Congratulations, Margot!

Hope. Forgiveness. Faith in God. Darry Burton, author of "Innocent: A Second Look" shared his witness with the class of 2024. Wrongfully accused and incarcerated for 24 years, Mr. Burton shares his incredible true story of hope, forgiveness and his relationship with Jesus Christ. As the capstone experience of reading "To Kill A Mockingbird" we pray that these young souls carry Mr. Burton's witness with them for the rest of their life.

School parent and fantasy author Dakota Krout visited our Kindergarten-5th grade classrooms to discuss his career. What a joy as the students listened to his very animated reading of one of his novels where one of the characters is Catholic. God bless you for feeding the imagination in our students' hearts and minds! https://www.amazon.com/stores/author/B01M2UQD35/about

SHOJ ❤️s Saint Agnes We are grateful to the Porter family for donating their “Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck” (complete with our favorite barista, Rob Porter) so that we could share some love with the parish and school staff at Saint Agnes. As Saint Agnes loves on their families during this challenging time, Sacred Heart shared some sweet treats and caffeine with our brothers and sisters in Christ. And SHOJ got a special treat as well… zoom in and see the smiling face of our beloved Father Pat. Such peace in knowing he is able to shepherd them through this challenging time. Christ. Be with us. Heal us.

The Way of the Cross The Stations of the Cross, presented to the Sacred Heart community by our 8th graders, paired Bible verses with each of the Stations. We are grateful to have our 8th graders minister to our youngest students by their witness of the final hours of the life of Jesus prior to his Crucifixion.
