Imagination Takes Flight
Third graders visited the Amelia Earhart museum today. They engaged in STEM activities that walked them through her life and times leading up to her flight across the Atlantic Ocean.

Save the day for the Kindest Kansas Citian Reception! All students who participated in the contest by turning in an essay back in January and February about an adult in their life that has shown great kindness to them are invited to a reception on Thursday, April 18th after school from 3:30-4 pm here at SHOJ. Specific location will be determined and shared with you soon. I will be sending invitations to all nominees beginning this week and an email with more details to you soon.
In a teacher's heart, there is NO WAY these beautiful souls are about to be seniors in high school.
The SH Class of 2021 celebrated National Honor Society inductions at Saint James Academy. Some of our beloved Cardinals are pictured here. Congrats to all!
EMBRACE visited Sacred Heart to present a $19,000 grant. Thank you to Ms. Hart for taking the time to compile the case for Sacred Heart. Thank you to EMBRACE for supporting Sacred Heart's desire to embrace all learners.

Hope. Forgiveness. Faith in God.
Darry Burton, author of "Innocent: A Second Look" shared his witness with the class of 2024. Wrongfully accused and incarcerated for 24 years, Mr. Burton shares his incredible true story of hope, forgiveness and his relationship with Jesus Christ. As the capstone experience of reading "To Kill A Mockingbird" we pray that these young souls carry Mr. Burton's witness with them for the rest of their life.

The Daily Mass Crowd
Sacred Heart students and faculty had a chance to offer hospitality to the Daily Mass crowd. Coffee and cinnamon rolls were served to this special group in thanksgiving for their faithful witness and inspiration to our students
School parent and fantasy author Dakota Krout visited our Kindergarten-5th grade classrooms to discuss his career. What a joy as the students listened to his very animated reading of one of his novels where one of the characters is Catholic. God bless you for feeding the imagination in our students' hearts and minds!

SHOJ ❤️s Saint Agnes
We are grateful to the Porter family for donating their “Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck” (complete with our favorite barista, Rob Porter) so that we could share some love with the parish and school staff at Saint Agnes.
As Saint Agnes loves on their families during this challenging time, Sacred Heart shared some sweet treats and caffeine with our brothers and sisters in Christ.
And SHOJ got a special treat as well… zoom in and see the smiling face of our beloved Father Pat. Such peace in knowing he is able to shepherd them through this challenging time.
Christ. Be with us. Heal us.
The Way of the Cross
The Stations of the Cross, presented to the Sacred Heart community by our 8th graders, paired Bible verses with each of the Stations.
We are grateful to have our 8th graders minister to our youngest students by their witness of the final hours of the life of Jesus prior to his Crucifixion.

Congrats to our the SHOJ Scholars Bowl Team!
They came in 2nd Place at Bishop Miege Scholars Bowl today. We are so proud of them and SHOJ Parent/Coach Janae Melvin for her time and enthusiasm. So much to celebrate for these young men and women.
Bishop Miege High School, Thank you for hosting!
Happy Birthday, President George Washington!
Among all the facts students learned about Presidents through the years, I can't shake what George Washington told me. His teeth WEREN'T wooden- they were made (in part)from horse and cow teeth. WOW!
A great day for the Class of 2024 as they shared their knowledge with the visitors to the Presidential Wax Museum at Sacred Heart.
Five SHoJ students are spending the day in an all-day workshop for the All-Elementary State Honor Choir at the Kansas Music Educator Convention. They perform at the Century II Convention Center this evening at 5 pm. Out of 700+ auditions of 3rd-5th graders across Kansas, 170 students were selected from a blind audition.
So proud of these students as they share their God given gifts with others.
Rosary Club
Our Rosary Club met for the first time to learn how to make knotted Rosaries. In English class, we might call "knotted Rosaries" an oxymoron. Our Holy Mother is, indeed, the undoer of knots. Either way, we LOVE the joy on the faces of these children and their club sponsor, Mrs. Schierts.
Sacred Heart School received its Project ADAM Heart Safe School Designation yesterday. The team is fully certified and committed to weekly drills. God bless this staff for their commitment to serving the Lord by caring for His children.
